If you use the lower set oh holes in the upper postion, make sure you go buy some 4 inch long bolts the same thread pattern as the allen bolts that go in the bottom of the bar through the fender rails. If you don't, it will rattle, and the chrome will be compromised rather rapidly.
I ran mine without the lower bolts while my wife was in between bikes of her own, and the risk of damage to the sissy bar and fender rails is pretty high due to the extra leverage factors involved.
